"Everyone used this as a frying pan but it is not designed to do that anything you cook in it will stick so bad you won't be able to clean it in the field. It's designed to be a serving tray to be used when hot meals are available from camp kitchens. They would that a pan of hot dishwater to cleanup after meals and another pan of boiling rinse water. I'd you want USGI for field cooking use a stainless canteen cup."
