The HITCO H2O is ideal for hiking, backpacking, camping, travel, and emergency preparedness. Filters up to 5,000 liters (1320.86 gallons) of water! The straw-style filter design lets you turn up to 5,000 liters of contaminated water into safe drinking water. The filter can be used to drink water directly from an open body of water such as a stream, river, or lake. It is a handheld ultralight design weighing only 2 oz.
The HITCO H2O can filter five times as much water as the standard LifeStraw. It reduces turbidity, filtering down to 0.1 microns. This filter does NOT use iodine or iodinated resin. The microbiological, hollow fiber membrane filters to 0.1 microns and removes:
- 99.999999% of bacteria (including E. Coli and Native Klebsiella)
- 99.999% of waterborne protozoan parasites (>LOG 3 reduction, including Giardia & Cryptosporidium)
- 99.999% of microplastics
