Commonly used to hold 840 rounds of 5.56MM ammo, and various other goods, so the stenciling may be of other types of ammo. These ammo cans are from different parts of the military. Even though they may or may not say 50 Cal on the side of the can, they are indeed, empty 50 Cal ammo cans. Please note when ordering if you have a preference as to whether the stenciling says "50 Cal" or "5.56MM."

Good hardware but needs better QC

"The ammo can arrived in great shape, and the locking hardware is very good quality. Unfortunately, the hole drilled in the can was a bit low and off-center, so the can's latch can't actually be moved past the post to open or close (at least, not without scraping really badly). I think I'll be able to get it to work with a file, and once I do I have every reason to think it will last for decades. But it was definitely disappointing to have to put effort into fixing the can right out of the box."

Will serve its purpose…

"I have ordered before so I knew what to expect but this can has a few more “rusty” blemishes. The last one only had one on the corner of the lid. So cosmetically, it has its flaws but functionally it is perfect. The lid closes tight and the locking hardware lines up and does its job. I have not tested the water seal but I have no doubt it is waterproof. I would rate it a 4.5 because of the number of blemishes for a Grade 1 if I could but the half off should not be viewed negatively."
